Firestone langer partner van de IndyCar

Firestone heeft het contract als exclusieve bandenleverancier van de IndyCar met meerdere jaren verlengd. De exacte looptijd van de nieuwe verbintenis is niet bekendgemaakt. Firestone keerde in 1995 terug als partner van de IndyCar en is inmiddels niet meer weg te dromen.

Jay Frye, competitiedirecteur bij de IndyCar-organisatie: "Firestone is verweven met de IndyCar en hun toewijding aan de verdere ontwikkeling van performance, noviteiten en veiligheid in onze klasse is echt opzienbarend. Het merk Firestone maakt al meer dan honderd jaar onderdeel uit van onze sport en zal ook de komende jaren op en naast de baan een integrale partner vorm voor de groei van de IndyCar."

Lisa Boggs van Firestone-moederbedrijf Bridgestone: "Al meer dan een eeuw gebruikt Firestone racen als middel om de betrouwbaarheid van onze producten tentoon te spreiden. Deze samenwerking met de IndyCar is van groot belang voor onze marketingactiviteiten, omdat het ons in staat stelt om contact te leggen met de fans. We kijken ernaar uit om daar de komende jaren op voort te borduren."
