KV Racing Technology gaat ten onder

Het team van KV Racing Technology houdt op te bestaan. De renstal was veertien seizoenen actief in de IndyCar en boekte in die periode zeven zeges, waaronder de Indy 500 in 2013 met Tony Kanaan. Eigenaren Kevin Kalkhoven en Jimmy Vasser hebben nu de stekker uit het team getrokken.

"Ik wil iedereen bedanken die ons iets gestuurd te hebben om de waardering voor KV Racing Technology uit te spreken en ons een hart onder de riem te steken", steekt Kalkhoven van wal. "Echter, ik ben bijna 73 jaar oud en ik kan het team niet langer de inspanningen en steun geven die de teamleden verdienen. Ik heb genoten van mijn tijd in de IndyCar, van de bijdrage aan de vereniging met de Champ Car en natuurlijk van de winst in de Indianapolis 500!"

"gaat ten onder" is wel een beetje misleidend in de titel. Het houdt gewoon op te bestaan. Het is niet failliet gegaan ofzo.
