SPM doet weer een beroep op Saavedra

Het team van Schmidt Peterson Motorsports heeft de vervanger van Mikhail Aleshin bekendgemaakt. Sebastian Saavedra keert terug in de IndyCar en zal in Pocono en op Gateway Motorsports Park de auto met startnummer 7 bemannen.

De 27-jarige Colombiaan reed eerder dit seizoen in Toronto al voor SPM. Saavedra: "Het doet me deugd om weer aan de slag te gaan binnen de organisatie van Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. Het is opnieuw op het laatste moment tot stand gekomen, maar ik ben trots op deze nieuwe oproep nadat onze samenwerking in Toronto voortvarend van start is gegaan."

"Ik kijk uit naar het uitdagende evenement op de Pocono Raceway en ik ga mijn teamgenoot James Hinchcliffe ondersteunen in zijn jacht op zoveel mogelijk punten voor het kampioenschap. Ik ben mijn sponsors dankbaar dat ze dit mede mogelijk hebben gemaakt."
