AJ Foyt behoudt Brazilianen Kanaan en Leist voor 2019

Ook in 2019 komen Tony Kanaan en Matheus Leist in de IndyCar Series uit voor AJ Foyt Racing. Ook maakte voorzitter Larry Foyt bekend dat sponsor ABC Supply nog een seizoen langer aan het team verbonden blijft.

Enkelvoudig Indy 500-winnaar Kanaan komt sinds dit seizoen uit voor het team van viervoudig Indy-winnaar AJ Foyt. Hij kwam over van Chip Ganassi Racing, waar hij vier seizoenen de teamgenoot van Scott Dixon was. Ook Leist rijdt sinds dit seizoen voor AJ Foyt Racing. Hij debuteert dit seizoen in de IndyCar, nadat hij vorig seizoen vierde werd in het Indy Lights-kampioenschap.

Aanvankelijk waren er geluiden dat ABC Supply na het seizoen 2018 zou stoppen met de sponsoring bij AJ Foyt Racing, maar dat blijkt niet het geval. Team en bedrijf hebben het contract met een jaar verlengd. ABC Supply staat al sinds 2005 op de auto's van het team.
