IndyCar presenteert kalender 2020 met wederom 17 races

De IndyCar Series heeft haar kalender voor het seizoen 2020 onthuld. Daarop is één nieuwe race te vinden: die wordt eind juni op Richmond Raceway verreden en die oval vervangt de race op Pocono Raceway.

Voor de rest is de kalender gelijk gebleven qua circuits die er bezocht worden. Net als in 2019 staan er dus 17 races op het programma voor de coureurs in de IndyCar Series. Op 15 maart wordt het seizoen traditioneel gezien afgetrapt op het stratencircuit van St. Petersburg. In tegenstelling tot afgelopen seizoen, toen de race om 19.40 uur Nederlandse tijd begon, zal dat in 2020 om 21.30 uur zijn.

Net als afgelopen jaar worden er in mei twee races verreden op Indianapolis Motor Speedway, met op 9 mei de race op de zogenaamde road course, terwijl de Indianapolis 500 voor 24 mei gepland staat. Daarna reist het IndyCar-circus door naar Detroit, waar op 30 en 31 mei weer twee races worden afgewerkt. Het seizoen eindigt op 20 september met de race op Laguna Seca.
