Megacrash tijdens IndyCar roadcourse openingsrace

Een megacrash tijdens de IndyCar Grand Prix of Alabama. Tijdens de eerste race van het 2021-seizoen vond er een crash plaats, waarbij onder meer de Nederlandse IndyCar-coureur Rinus van Kalmthout betrokken was. De door Jumbo gesponsorde coureur kon verder in de race, maar dit gold niet voor sommige andere coureurs. Maar liefst vijf coureurs vielen al uit in de race door de crash. sinds dit kampioenschap weer terug is in 2008 is Ganassi 8 keer kampioen geworden, Penske 4 keer en 1 keer Andretti
