Grosjean en Indy 500 strijken met eer bij grootschalige enquête

In de IndyCar is voormalig F1-coureur Romain Grosjean de meest gewaardeerde coureur, de Indy 500 de populairste race op de kalender en Team Penske het meest favoriete team. Dat blijkt uit een enquête die wereldwijd werd gehouden en die is ingevuld door 53.579 fans over 147 verschillende landen. 

Uit het onderzoek kwam ook naar voren dat de liefhebbers van de Amerikaanse openwielserie de vele actie, sterke competitie, vele verschillende winnaars en het niveau van de coureurs erg waarderen. 

Verbeterpunten

Ook werden de fans gevraagd naar verbeterpunten voor de IndyCar. Op nummer één stond: meer motorfabrikanten. In het huidige veld zijn alleen Honda en Chevrolet actief. Daarnaast wilden de liefhebbers de dubbele punten behouden voor de in Indy 500. 

Daarentegen over willen ze absoluut geen verandering in het weekend-format om meer entertainment te genereren, zoals sprintraces bij de Formule 1. Ook zijn de fans tegen het veranderen van het oval-kwalificatie-format. Op dit moment rijden de coureurs - los van de Indy 500 - twee runs in hun eentje en de gemiddelde tijd is leidend.

      Dan heb je waarschijnlijk net de Bahreins recepten van Romain uitgeprobeerd @Schwantz.

      In de recensies werd al gewaarschuwd dat Grosjean op dat vlak de fout in was gegaan...

    Ik zag zojuist nog een filmpje dat Grosjean in de vrije training zijn auto vol in Sato parkeerde... prima coureur, maar een te kort aan omgeving besef in de auto...

      JMF@ inderdaad, vooral met Sato kan die een waaghals actie verwachten nu. Vooral Sato zijn acties op ovals vind niet iedereen in Indycar prettig, maar ik houd er wel van..
