Conor Daly maakt opvallende comeback bij RLL Racing

Terwijl het Silly Season in de Formule 1 momenteel nog vrij rustig verloopt, is de stoelendans in de Indycar in volle gang. Met nog maar een paar races te gaan, is het startveld van de Amerikaanse raceklasse weer flink opgeschud. Het team van Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing heeft namelijk een opvallende move gemaakt.

De renstal heeft namelijk besloten om de Britse coureur Jack Harvey de deur te wijzen. Harvey bestuurde de auto met startnummer 30 en reageerde strijdbaar op zijn exit. Hij wordt voor de race op de World Wide Technology Raceway-oval vervangen door Conor Daly. Daly was in de eerste races van het Indycar-seizoen nog de teamgenoot van Rinus VeeKay bij het team van Ed Carpenter Racing. Nu maakt hij dus redelijk onverwachts zijn comeback.

    Harvey rijdt constant p17 of slechter in een auto die duidelijk mee kan met de grote ganassi, penske andretti mclaren vloot.

    Om dan Daily aan te nemen voor deze race is logisch. Daily is best oke op deze oval en de auto moet in de top 22 blijven van de winnercircle. (Prijzenpot) door harvey ligt de auto bijna uit de top 22. (Prijzenpot aan teams gaat om de auto bij indycar, niet perse wat coureurs doen)

      Kleine correctie... de #30 auto staat nu "24ste" in de "leader circle"

      De #30 zou dus theoretisch de 910K dollar mislopen voor RLL

      Askew hele leuke. Deed t in FE beter tegen Dennis dan Lotterer en in Indycar helaas bij een nog opbouwend Mclaren terecht gekomen.

      Rijdt die uberhaupt nog ergens MWHT?

      volgens mij niet. zal misschien nog wel eens een IMSA wedstrijd doen of zo. Doet commentaar werk bij de FE, doet dat wel goed wat mij betreft, maar is toch zonde dat hij niet meer rijd.
      Toch destijds Indy Ligths kampioen voor Veekay geweest.

      Wat mij vooral tegenvalt zijn de salarissen in Indycar. In de formule 1 ligt het gemiddelde salaris zo rond de 10 miljoen Dollar, in NASCAR 3,5-4 miljoen Dollar. Het gemiddelde salaris in Indycar is lager dan 750k. Waarbij Ericsson absolute grootverdiener is met 3,1 miljoen Dollar.

      Ik kan me voorstellen dat dat financieel dan ook niet aantrekkelijk is voor NASCAR coureurs als Larson of Blaney die momenteel meer verdienen. Alternatieven zouden formule 2 coureurs kunnen zijn die het over 't algemeen toch best aardig doen in Indycar.

      Misschien dat een jongen als Vandoorne, Vergne, Lotterer of Jake Dennis eens een poging zou kunnen wagen. Geen idee wat die verdienen in Formule E.

      DegladdeViking@ ik heb dat staartje ook gezien op yahoo. Echter daar zitten volgens mij de bonussen niet bij.

      Rinus Veekay verdient met name door de indy500 al zijn (basis)salaris nog een keer. Zo zijn er nog wat meer prijzen in Indycar die best de moeite waard zijn.
