Ondanks vijfde plaats loopt Ten Voorde uit in tussenstand

De race op Zandvoort werd gewonnen door rookie Laurin Heinrich voor Nebulus Racing by Huber. Zijn team -en landgenoot Loen Koehler werd tweede en zorgde hierdoor voor een dubbelslag voor de renstal. Larry ten Voorde in de zesde ronde van Porsche Supercup de best geklasseerde Nederlander met een vijfde plaats. In totaal kwamen negen Hollanders aan de start.

Ten Voorde is veruit de sterkste Porsche-coureur uit de Lage Landen. In 2020 won de 24-jarige rijder uit Enschede al het kampioenschap in deze series en is dit seizoen op weg naar titelprolongatie.

In het kampioenschap is Ten Voorde ondanks zijn topvijfklassering op Zandvoort uitgelopen in de tussenstand. Zijn directe belager uit Nieuw-Zeeland, Jaxon Evans, werd tiende. Hierdoor is het verschil 25 punten met nog een double header in Monza voor de boeg, waarin in totaal nog 50 punten zijn te scoren. Deze races zijn volgende week.

Ten Voorde heeft al drie overwinningen en een derde plek op zak. Vorige week op een verregend Spa-Francorchamps behaalde hij zijn minste resultaat tot nu toe. In de Ardennen werd de Team GP Elite-piloot achtste.
