Kampioen Ten Voorde finisht seizoen in stijl met zege op Monza

De laatste race van het Porsche Supercup-seizoen is gewonnen door de kersverse kampioen Larry ten Voorde. De Nederlander bleef op Monza vanaf pole Laurin Heinrich voor en pakte zijn vierde zege van het seizoen. Ayhancan Guven, de winnaar van de zaterdag, werd op het nippertje derde. Naast het succes van Ten Voorde, heeft hij met zijn Nederlandse renstal Team GP Elite ook het teamkampioenschap binnengesleept.

Tijdens dit seizoen stond geen maat op Ten Voorde. Met vier zeges, vier poles en twee keer de snelste ronde werd zijn overmacht onderstreept in deze GT3-klasse. In 2020 won de 24-jarige coureur uit Enschede ook al het kampioenschap.

In de eindstand heeft Ten Voorde 155 punten verzameld. Jaxon Evans was lange tijd een grote concurrent, maar liet het afweten in de laatse vier races. Met één zege en met twee keer een tweede plek komt de Nieuw-Zeelander uit op 111 punten, één punt meer dan nummer drie Guven en Heinrich. Guven wordt derde omdat de Turk een tweede plek meer scoorde.

Naast Ten Voorde zijn nog meer Nederlanders te vinden in de rangschikking. Max van Splunteren eindigt als negende. De broers Jesse en Daan van Kuijk zijn 17de en 18de geworden. Lucas Groeneveld is de laagst geklasseerde Nederlander met de 20ste positie.
