Porsche volgend jaar door met dezelfde line-up

Porsche heeft de contracten van de zes huidige LMP1-coureurs verlengd voor volgend seizoen. Mark Webber, Brendon Hartley Timo Bernhard, Neel Jani, Romain Dumas en Marc Lieb verdedigen ook in 2015 de eer van het Duitse merk in het World Endurance Championship.

Porsche keerde dit jaar terug in de LMP1-klasse. Met de 919 Hybrid behaalden ze een paar podiumplekken, maar het is nog wachten op een overwinning. Derde plaatsen in Silverstone, Fuji en Sjanghai zijn de beste klasseringen tot nu toe.

Porsche ruimt vooralsnog geen plek in voor een andere oud Formule 1-coureur, naast Webber. Jenson Button is met het Duitse merk in verband gebracht, maar de Engelsman kan nu alleen nog bij Porsche terecht als zij besluiten een derde auto in te schrijven.
