Van der Garde twee keer zesde in Hongarije

Giedo van der Garde is twee keer zesde geworden op de Hungaroring. De Nederlander kwam niet alleen in beide races op dezelfde positie binnen, hij had ook twee keer een achterstand van iets meer dan zes seconden op de winnaar. In de eerste race was Van der Garde echter op weg naar een podiumplek, maar een lange pitstop vergooide zijn kansen daarop. De Spyker-testcoureur blijft op een achtste plek in het kampioenschap staan.

Ook Jaap van Lagen kwam weer eens in actie in de World Series by Renault. De Nederlander werd eerder dit jaar aan de kant geschoven door Comtec, maar in Hongarije mocht hij toch opdraven. Bij het team van Eurointernational moest Van Lagen de plaats van Celso Miguez innemen. De Nederlander kende echter een ongelukkig weekend. Van Lagen viel twee keer uit.

Xavier Maassen reed twee stabiele races voor het Prema Powerteam. De Nederlander werd veertiende en dertiende, een paar plekken buiten de punten. De overwinningen in Hongarije gingen naar Filipe Albuquerque en Alejandro Nunez. Voor beide heren betrof het hier de allereerste zege van het jaar. Ook Fairuz Fauzy, Benjamin Hanley, Sebastian Vettel en Milos Pavlovic belandden op het podium.
