Adrian Sutil weg als reservecoureur bij Williams

Williams gaat niet verder met Adrian Sutil als reserverijder. Dat bevestigde een bron vanuit het team aan journalist Adam Cooper. Sutil vervolgt zijn loopbaan waarschijnlijk buiten de Formule 1. De Duitser heeft altijd interesse gehad in de DTM en het WEC, evenals in de Super GT in Japan.

Het boek Formule 1 kan na 2015 wel dicht. Williams maakte de komst van Sutil als reservecoureur voor de Maleisische Grand Prix bekend. De Duitser woonde alle overzeese races bij, maar hij heeft geen enkele keer in de FW37 gereden. Het is nog niet duidelijk hoe Williams de line-up verder invult. Testrijder Susie Wolff is ook gestopt. Ontwikkelingscoureur Alex Lynn kan een nieuw contract tegemoet zien. Williams denkt nog na of ze een rijder met ervaring moeten inhuren als reserve.

Toen mocht er nog gewoon getest worden en dat deed Vettel dan ook. Sinds het testverbod is het zinloos om als testcoureur rond te lopen. Ook zijn de auto's zo veilig dat een reservecoureur bijna nooit meer nodig is.
