Marko ziet dat Formule 1 'niets te vrezen' heeft van Formule E

Onder autofabrikanten begint de Formule E aan populariteit te winnen, maar voor Helmut Marko is één ding duidelijk: de elektrische raceklasse is geen partij voor de Formule 1.

De Formule E is vorige maand begonnen aan haar zesde seizoen en er staan liefst zeven fabrikanten aan de start: Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Nissan, Jaguar en Mahindra. De fabrikanten zien in de elektrische klasse een beter platform om aandrijving te ontwikkelen waarmee de uitstoot van CO2 tot een minimum kan worden beperkt en geven het daarbij de voorkeur boven de Formule 1.

Marko maakt zich echter geen zorgen. De Formule E heeft weliswaar een groener imago dan de Formule 1, maar desondanks is het kindje van Alejandro Agag geen bedreiging voor de F1. Dat stelt Marko in Kleine Zeitung. "Er valt niets te vrezen zolang er enorme dieselgeneratoren nodig zijn om de elektriciteit voor de raceauto's te produceren", steekt de talentscout en adviseur van Red Bull van wal.

Bovendien kan de Formule E bij lange na nog niet tippen aan de schare fans van de Formule 1. "De Formule 1 zal als show en als sport blijven bestaan, maar wel binnen een redelijk budget. De Formule 1 moet het voortouw blijven nemen met het oog op toekomstige technologieën", vervolgt Marko. Daarbij lijkt hij ook te wijzen op de duurzame initiatieven die de Formule 1 afgelopen maand introduceerde.

nieuwe techniek is nooit zinloos. Een paar circuits zijn toch wel aardig leuk en de coureurs als afgeserveerd bestempelen gaat ook wel weer wat ver. Ja ze zijn niet goed genoeg voor F1... maar ze zijn goed. Het is niet bepaald zo dat deze coureurs op plaats 20 rond reden in de juniorklassen. Maar... [Lees verder]

    Niets te vrezen nee....vrij logisch ook, waardeloze circuits, afgeserveerde coureurs, auto,s zonder geluid met accu,s.....een totaal zinloze en onnodige techniek, dus geen interesse.

      geheel zinloos en overbodig niet, maar zolang ze nog niet op normale circuits rijden omdat ze bang zijn voor een directe vergelijking in rondetijden en topsnelheden nog niet helemaal serieus te nemen.

F1 heeft alleen wat van hen te vrezen als ze zelf over zouden stappen naar elektrische auto's op accu. Gaan ze naar waterstof of een hybride variant van verbranding en waterstof dan is het alweer een compleet verschil. Ik zie F1 nog steeds als de top maar Formule E heeft qua niveau een vergelijkbaar character gekregen als Indycars. Indycars heeft Ovals om zich te onderscheiden... Formule E gebruikt stratencircuits als onderscheiding... prima. Wil je iets vergelijkbaar als Formule 1 erbij zien... dan is Superformula een mooi alternatief... Dat is ook hoe ik deze 3 klassen zie: Indycar, Superformula en Formule E zijn een alternatief voor F1... F1 blijft toonaangevend.

      Waarom de FE ook nooit de F1 zal gaan vervangen is ook omdat de FE een standaard chassis heeft en de teams dus alleen de aandrijving zelf bouwen.

      Ik snap nooit dat mensne de FE altijd vergelijken met de F1. De F1 bestaat al meer als een halve eeuw en de FE net een half decenium. Klasse is volledig nieuw en doet het iig stukken beter als het ter ziele gegane A1 Grand Prix (de reden dat ik dit kampioenschap aanhaal is omdat die ook in de winter reden)

      Ik vindt de FE leuk om naar te kijken, ondanks dat er wel wat verbeterd kan worden. Voor een klasse dat slechts het zesde seizoen ingaat doen ze het echter geweldig (mijn mening slechts) en dat er iets aanslaat bij die klasse is ook te zien door de hoeveelheid fabrikanten die zich hebben aangesloten.

      Ik kijk er iig met plezier naar. Niet als vervanger van de F1 maar als aanvulling. Enne @HarryLam, totaal zinloze en onnodige techniek? Ik kijk juist met bewondering naar de techniek in de FE en de stappen die ze gemaakt hebben in de korte tijd dat de serie bestaat.
