Marko miste Lauda in titelstrijd: "Zou niet zo zijn geëscaleerd"

Red Bull Racing en Mercedes konden elkaars bloed wel drinken afgelopen seizoen. De twee renstallen duelleerden op het scherpst van de snede en hielden elkaar met argusogen in de gaten. Soms rolde de twee als vechtende pubers met elkaar over de grond.

Uiteindelijk verdeelden de twee teams de wereldtitels. Mercedes won het constructeurskampioenschap en Red Bull zag hun coureur Max Verstappen de wereldtitel pakken. Na het seizoen begroeven de twee teams de strijdbijl maar het is de vraag hoelang de vrede standhoudt.

Escaleren

Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko denkt dat de situatie heel erg anders was geweest als Niki Lauda nog had geleefd. Bij ServusTV sprak de Oostenrijker zich zeer duidelijk uit: "Het zou niet zo erg zijn geëscaleerd als Niki Lauda nog onder ons was geweest."

Marko denkt dat  er zeker weten strijd was geweest maar wel op een heel erg andere manier: "Het zou zeker zwaar zijn geweest maar omdat hij ook geen fan was van verliezen. Maar het zou zeker met veel meer beheersing zijn gegaan."

    Lauda had Toto een bitchslap in de garage gegeven. Dat zouden gouden beelden geweest zijn.

    We hebben allemaal kunnen zien hoe een toto zonder sturing van Lauda zich gedraagt, maar Misschien had Lauda Mercedes dusdanig georganiseerd gekregen dat RBR er niet in de buurt zou komen

    Met Niki erbij was Lewis wellicht cum lauda geslaagd voor zijn 8e titel. Toto had het in ieder geval erg zwaar in zijn uppie.

    ik hoor die geluiden vaker, en vraag me af waarop ze dat baseren...

    De Niki Lauda zoals hij op mij overkwam was een man die van zijn hart ook bepaald geen moordkuil maakte, dus of het met Niki erbij niet zo geëscaleerd zou zijn dat waag ik te betwijfelen..

      In dit geval wordt het gezegd door Helmut en misschien baseert hij dat wel op het feit dat hij dikke matties was met Niki zodat hij in tegenstelling tot jij vast wel een goed beeld van de persoon Lauda had.

      Die twee ouwe donders zouden als 'n stel schooljongens aan het knokken zijn geweest in de pitsstraat.

      Niki zou bij Helmut zijn glazen oog eruit peuteren en Helmut zou bij Niki aan zijn oren trekken....o wacht ff.

      Het verhaal gaat dat Marko en Lauda geregeld gezamenlijk ontbeten. En daar werd ook de politiek tussen de twee teams besproken. Er werd vaak de grootste hitte getemperd door Lauda. En dat zelfde zal hij hebben gedaan met Wolff.

      Of het waar is weet ik niet, maar Marko zal in ieder geval niet over hebben gelogen.
      Regelmatig ontbijten tussen Wolff en Marko zie ik niet gebeuren. Marko zei daarover: We gaan niet samen op vakantie.
