Marko duidelijk over doel updates: "Hopelijk zorgt het voor gewichtsverlies"

Het team van Red Bull Racing is niet bepaald op de gewenste wijze uit de startblokken gekomen. De Oostenrijkse renstal heeft zeker een snelle auto gebouwd maar de betrouwbaarheid laat nog aan de wensen over. Regerend wereldkampioen Max Verstappen viel dan ook al tweemaal uit in het huidige seizoen.

Naast betrouwbaarheidsproblemen kampt de Oostenrijkse ploeg met een ander, veelvoorkomend probleem. Red Bull heeft namelijk te maken met een auto die iets te zwaar is, hij heeft praktisch gezien overgewicht. Meerdere teams hebben te maken met dit euvel en de oplossingen zijn talrijk. Meerdere teams hebben bijvoorbeeld besloten om verf van de wagen te halen om gewicht te besparen.

Updates

Red Bull heeft dat, vooralsnog, niet gedaan. Wel is het team bezig met zoeken naar oplossingen voor het overtollige gewicht. Aankomend weekend staat het circuit van Imola op het programma en traditioneel gezien nemen de teams updates mee naar de eerste Europese race. Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko geeft aan dat Red Bull dit ook van plan is. Tegenover het Duitse RTL is hij er duidelijk over: "We hopen dat de updates in Imola voor wat gewichtsverlies gaan zorgen."

Ferrari

Marko is echter realistisch, de Oostenrijker weet dat de hoop soms ver weg staat van de realiteit. Toch weet Marko wel wat de belangrijkste bedoeling is van de aanstaande updates: "Het gewichtsverlies gebeurt niet zomaar, het is echt een proces van de lange termijn. We hebben heel erg veel gewicht teveel, in ieder geval meer dan Ferrari. Als we in Barcelona dichtbij Ferrari rijden, dan zijn we heel erg tevreden."

  Misschien bedoelt hij dat de updates weliswaar voor minder gewicht zorgen, maar als zij verder overall onvoldoende voordelen bieden (qua snelheid/balans) dat ze dan er toch weer af moeten en men dus door moet met de oude configuratie?

  @Cherokee; da’s toch logisch? Ik hoop bij m’n wekelijkse weegmoment ook op gewichtsverlies.🤷🏻‍♂️ Lijkt me allen raar dat ze bij RBR ook hopen dat die auto uit zichzelf gewicht verliest….😂😂

Marko wordt ook een dagje ouder en zegt nu: erg veel gewicht te veel, ik schreef zelf dat dat wellicht 30 kg was, gelezen op een ander forum van iemand die het zou kunnen weten, maar kon het inmiddels niet meer terug vinden, dus niet serieus nemen aub! Stel dat het bv 15 kg zou zijn is er best wel wat te doen om op gewenst niveau weer te gaan komen. Als de gewichts problemen achter de rug zijn ergens na Barcelona en de balans en insturen tot het verleden horen de betrouwbaarheid in orde is dan pas kan je weer verder vooruit kijken, wellicht ook motor settings voor meer vermogen,een update van de benzine leverancier wellicht.
