Marko vol vertrouwen in Montreal: "Dit is echt ons circuit"

Dit weekend komen de heren coureurs in actie in Canada. De Grand Prix op het circuit van Montreal ontbrak de afgelopen twee seizoenen op de kalender vanwege het coronavirus. Nu keert de Formule 1 echter terug en is het nog maar de vraag welk team er als snelste uit de bus zal komen.

De teams van Red Bull Racing en Ferrari maken vooralsnog de dienst uit in het huidige seizoen. De twee renstallen duelleren om de zeges en zijn ruim sneller dan de rest van het veld. Het is dan ook de verwachting dat deze twee teams weer gaan strijden op het circuit in Montreal.

Passend

Red Bull heeft momenteel het momentum stevig in handen. In de laatste vijf races kwam een Red Bull-coureur als winnaar over de streep. Ook gaat het team aan de leiding in het constructeurskampioenschap, Max Verstappen leidt het wereldkampioenschap. Teamadviseur is in aanloop naar de Canadese Grand Prix positief bij Bild: "Het team is echt in opperbeste stemming. Deze baan past bij onze auto. We zijn optimistisch voor een goed resultaat. Canada is echt ons circuit."

Zwak

Marko ziet nog meer pluspunten in het huidige seizoen. De ervaren Oostenrijker weet dat Red Bull in het verleden vaak moest terugslaan na de zomerstop. Dit jaar is alles echter compleet anders: "Normaal gezien is onze eerste seizoenshelft altijd nogal zwak. Maar dat is dit jaar niet het geval. Maar, ik moet wel zeggen dat er nog steeds enkele tienden in onze auto's zitten."
