Marko denkt niet aan stoppen: "Dit draait puur om passie"

Het team van Red Bull Racing is dit jaar wederom een van de sterkste teams van het veld. De Oostenrijkse formatie duelleert dit jaar met Ferrari om de zeges. Vorig jaar vochten ze eveneens een hels duel uit met toenmalige rivaal Mercedes. Het team greep toen de wereldtitel met Max Verstappen.

Het team heeft al geruime tijd een zeer bekende structuur aan de leidinggevende kant van het team. Christian Horner fungeert al sinds het begin als teambaas van het team. Helmut Marko is de teamadviseur en is tevens verantwoordelijk voor de talenten van Red Bull en de keuzes van de coureurs van het team en zusterteam Alphatauri.

Marko zal voorlopig nog wel actief blijven in de koningsklasse van de autosport. De Oostenrijker is niet de jongste meer maar laat aan Auto Hebdo weten niet snel met pensioen te gaan: "Dit draait puur om passie en ik ben dan ook nog steeds gepassioneerd. Ik houd van deze sport en ook van winnen. Niets wat ik doe levert mij echte stress op. Ik voel mij dan ook goed en ik ga door zolang ik mijn werk kan uitvoeren en zolang ik niet ontslagen word."

Dat jij hem niet mag, prima, maar spreek niet namens de 'Formule 1 wereld', want daar heb je helemaal niets mee van doen. Je bent gewoon iemand die op zijn zolderkamertje wat zure berichten loopt te tikken en hebt werkelijk geen enkel zicht op of benul van het functioneren van Helmut Marko

      Eens met MWHT.
      Helmut kan een "pain in the ass" zijn, maar vlak hem niet uit.
      Ook heeft hij humor, en ja, dan spring ik voor hem in de bres.

      FGRacing, dat is puur en ongezouten trollen. En je weet het.
      Hij en Wolff zijn karakters die zeer belangrijk zijn voor F1. Onderdeel van alle story lines van de afgelopen 15 jaar.
      Marko is zelfs belangrijker voor F1 dan Wolff. Maar dat is dan wel mijn mening.

    Dr. Helmut Marko en Franz Tost zijn wel de smaakmakers en vooral kennis spotters van de F1. Natuurlijk Marko is wat meer uitgesproken. Maar als je geen te gekke dingen doet en echt talent hebt steekt hij zijn handen in het vuur voor je. Dat heeft hij bij Max ook gedaan. Jos weggestuurd in begin van Max zijn carriere.
