Red Bull-talent looft Marko: "Hij is een geweldig en inspirerend karakter"

Red Bull staat bekend als één van de grootste opleidingsploegen van de autosport. Veel coureurs hebben in de afgelopen jaren de stap gezet naar de Formule 1-teams van Red Bull Racing en AlphaTauri. Helmut Marko is de eindverantwoordelijke van de talentenploeg en volgens één van de grote talenten kloppen de vooroordelen over hem niet.

Eerder dit jaar werd de jonge, talentvolle Thaise karter Enzo Tarnvanichkul toegevoegd aan het Red Bull Junior Team. De Thaise karter geldt als één van de grootste talenten voor de toekomst en werd dit jaar kampioen in zijn kartklasse. Als kampioen mocht hij zich dan ook melden op het FIA Prize Giving Gala waar hij de bijbehorende prijs in ontvangst mocht nemen uit de handen van Max Verstappen.

Leuker

De nog maar dertienjarige Tarnvanichkul was zeer blij en mocht dan ook al direct een dankwoordje spreken. De Thaise karter liet tijdens het gala weten dat hij heel erg trots is op zijn lidmaatschap van de opleidingsploeg van Red Bull: "Om de naam van een bedrijf zoals Red Bull op je wagen te hebben staan, dat maakt het natuurlijk leuker en het zorgt ook voor meer druk. Je vertegenwoordigt dan natuurlijk ook het bedrijf."

Televisie

Tarnvanichkul ontmoette tijdens zijn toetreding tot het Red Bull Junior Team ook Helmut Marko. De Oostenrijkse Red Bull-adviseur staat bekend als een harde man maar Tarnvanichkul ziet het iets anders: "Marko is echt een geweldig persoon. Hij heeft een prachtige loopbaan gehad in de Formule 1 en hij heeft op Le Mans gereden. Hij is een geweldig en inspirerend karakter als je hem ontmoet. Soms misleidt de televisie je. Als je hem echt ontmoet dan het heel speciaal en dat voelde ook zo."

  Hij mag blij zijn dat hij (nog) niet met Bradly Scanes hoeft te trainen.
  Die liep vanmorgen om 04:45u al door de sneeuw naar de sportschool en het bleek dat hij de eerste was, gôh, haha.
  Normaal staat hij trouwens pas om 05:00u op om te trainen, meestal met/in zijn eigen trainingsspullen/ruimte thuis.

  Het idee alleen al om om die tijd op te staan om meteen te gaan trainen!!
  Hij ergert zich ook altijd tijdens de GP weekenden, omdat de sportzalen in de hotels niet zo vroeg open zijn, hahaha.
