Marko tevreden na eerste gesprekken met nieuwe Red Bull-chef

Sinds de dood van Red Bull-eigenaar Dietrich Mateschitz is er veel veranderd binnen het bedrijf. De toekomst van het Formule 1-team werd al snel verzekerd en Oliver Mintzlaff werd de man die onder meer moet toezien op Red Bull Racing. Volgens Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko staan alle neuzen dezelfde kant op.

Marko is één van de belangrijkste pionnen bij Red Bull Racing en AlphaTauri. De Oostenrijker is onder meer verantwoordelijk voor de talentenstal en voor welke coureurs en bij de twee Formule 1-teams onder contract staan. Marko was een goede vriend van Mateschitz en men vreesde dan ook dat hij mogelijk wat minder goed kon samenwerken met diens opvolger.

Filosofie

Marko is echter alles behalve gestrest. De Oostenrijker heeft al gesproken met Mintzlaff, die eerder bij voetbalclub RB Leipzig werkte, en kijkt met vertrouwen naar de toekomst. In gesprek met Kleine Zeitung is Marko duidelijk: "Het was niet de eerste keer dat wij elkaar zagen. Het was wel ons eerste gesprek over de toekomst en hoe we dat willen gaan benaderen. We hebben dezelfde filosofie. Hij was heel erg zorgvuldig en goed op de hoogte."

Vlaggenschip

Red Bull Racing is momenteel zeer succesvol en volgens Marko wil men dat vasthouden. De Oostenrijker sprak daar vanzelfsprekend ook over met zijn nieuwe baas Mintzlaff. Marko steekt dat niet onder stoelen of banken: "Het is geen geheim dat wij het vlaggenschip zijn van het bedrijf Red Bull. We waren het er snel over eens dat we in deze richting willen doorgaan met ons team."
