Marko reageert op crashtest-geruchten: "Lachwekkend!"

Alle Formule 1-teams zijn momenteel hard bezig met de voorbereidingen op het aankomende seizoen. De nieuwe wagens worden klaargestoomd voor de seizoenstart. Helmut Marko moet een beetje lachen om de beweringen dat Red Bull niet door de eerste crashtest zou zijn gekomen.

Alle teams zijn verplicht om hun nieuwe bolides te onderwerpen aan een crashtest. Hiermee kan worden gemeten of er gen veiligheidsrisico's zijn met het nieuwe chassis. Ook Red Bull voerde deze test uit, maar meerdere media meldden dat dit niet helemaal goed was gegaan. Red Bull zou bij de eerste poging niet door de zogenaamde Front Impact Structure Dynamic Test zijn gekomen.

Red Bull reageerde in eerste instantie niet op deze opvallende verhalen. Teamadviseur Helmut Marko heeft het stilzwijgen nu doorbroken. De Oostenrijker reageert zelfs een beetje lacherig op de verhalen van eerder deze week. In gesprek met F1 Insider wordt Marko geconfronteerd met de verhalen: "Lachwekkend! Als wij de eerste crashtest hadden doorstaan, dan zou dat juist een probleem voor ons zijn. Dan zouden we het helemaal niet goed hebben gedaan!" Het komt overigens wel vaker voor dat teams zakken voor dit soort tests, dit maken ze vanzelfsprekend niet publiekelijk bekend.

Voor wie het niet begrijpt: het gaat er om dat je moet uitvinden wat het lichtste chassis is dat voldoet. Door een paar keer een test te doen met steeds een iets zwaarder chassis, kun je het optimum vinden. Als de eerste test goed is, weet je niet of het beter had gekund.

Voor wie het niet begrijpt: het gaat er om dat je moet uitvinden wat het lichtste chassis is dat voldoet. Door een paar keer een test te doen met steeds een iets zwaarder chassis, kun je het optimum vinden. Als de eerste test goed is, weet je niet of het beter had gekund.

  Als de eerste test goed was hadden ze evengoed meer testen gedaan maar dan juist steeds dunner en lichter materiaal. Het maakt dus niet uit of het wel of niet gelijk goed is, ze testen hoe dan ook de optimale structuur.

  Natuurlijk doen alle teams zelf heel veel testen. Maar het gaat nu om de officiële goedkeuring. Ik denk niet dat de FIA het toestaat (of prettig vind) dat teams hele serie officiële testen laten doen, als ze eenmaal een goedkeuring hebben...

Ik snap hoe dan ook de ophef niet. Bij de testweek zal er gewoon een goedgekeurde RB20 staan en rijden.

  Zijn vooral die GP/bl/og saits die hier graag sensatie mee maken en het lekker rond slingeren.
  
  Het is een test. Werkt badkuip A, dan maak je een dunnere lichtere badkuip B.. tot er 1 niet door gaat en dan weet je de grens.
  
  Maar sommigen doen net overkomen alsof de hele auto dan wordt afgekeurd en er last minut nog een nieuwe moet worden ontworpen met dan een klick titel "Red Bull in de problemen na drama met crashtest?"
