Stanaway opent de jacht op kampioenschapleider Lynn

Alex Lynn voert al het hele jaar de stand in de GP3 aan, maar misschien dat Richie Stanaway zich nu opwerpt als gegadigde om de positie van de Brit te bedreigen. Stanaway won in Hongarije de hoofdrace en scoorde 33 punten, dertien meer dan Lynn dit weekend.

De Nieuw-Zeelander kijkt wel tegen een aanzienlijke achterstand aan. Stanaway heeft 103 punten, Lynn staat op 134 punten. Maar Hongarije is wellicht het keerpunt geweest. Het was het eerste weekend dit seizoen dat Red Bull-protegé Lynn niet het podium haalde.

Patric Niederhauser triomfeerde op zondagochtend in de sprintrace, maar de Zwitser speelt geen rol van betekenis in het kampioenschap. De top drie bestond verder uit Dino Zamparelli en Jann Mardenborough, de PlayStation-coureur die ook in het echt steeds vaker mooie dingen laat zien.
