James Calado tekent bij ART voor 2011

James Calado stapt voor volgend seizoen over naar de GP3. De Brit gaat bij ART Grand Prix aan de slag. Calado eindigde dit jaar als tweede in het Brits Formule 3-kampioenschap. ART leverde dit seizoen de eerste GP3-kampioen en mikt met Calado in 2011 op titelprolongatie.

Calado: Het is fantastisch om me bij een sterk team als ART te voegen. Ze hebben het eerste GP3-seizoen gewonnen en presteren ook altijd goed in de GP2 en Formule 3 Euroseries. Een stoeltje bij een kampioenskandidaat is wat iedere coureur wil. Dat ik daartoe de gelegenheid krijg en mezelf mag presenteren in het voorprogramma van de Formule 1 is een droom die uitkomt.

ART-teambaas Frederic Vasseur: We volgen James al jaren nauwlettend, zoals elke veelbelovende coureur, en hebben vertrouwen dat hij over de kwaliteiten en ambitie beschikt om succesvol te zijn in de GP3. We hebben dit jaar met Esteban Gutierrez de titel gewonnen en het zou geweldig zijn om dat succes volgend jaar te herhalen.
