Valtteri Bottas met Lotus ART in 2011 in de GP3

Valtteri Bottas verruilt de Formule 3 Euroseries volgend jaar voor de GP3. De Fin blijft actief voor ART, dat uit de Formule 3 Euroseries stapt en voor de GP3 en GP2 een samenwerkingsverband aanging met Lotus. Esteban Gutierrez won dit jaar de GP3-titel met ART.

Bottas: Een seizoen in de GP3 met Lotus ART maakt onderdeel uit van een logische progressie. Na het behalen van diverse zeges in de Formule 3, met name mijn twee overwinningen in de Masters op Zandvoort, moet ik de volgende trede op de autosportladder beklimmen en de GP3 heeft zich dit jaar bewezen als stap voorwaarts. De serie staat in het voorprogramma van de Formule 1 en het veld is zeer getalenteerd. Mijn doel is om eerst te leren en vervolgens met de besten de strijd aan te gaan.

Teambaas Frederic Vasseur: Valtteri is een begaafd, snel en talentvol coureur op technisch vlak. Hij is ook een charmant en intelligent mens waarmee het altijd prettig samenwerken is. Extreem snel, gefocust en mentaal sterk, door die waarden past Valtteri perfect in het profiel voor ons tweede GP3-seizoen.
