Pizzonia en Howson stappen in bij Manor voor 6 uur van Nürburgring

Dit weekend kunnen de Formule 1-fans een oude bekende zien bij de 6 uur van de Nürburgring. Antonio Pizzonia stapt in bij Manor en vervangt daar Will Stevens.

Pizzonia reed in 2003 en 2004 in de Formule 1. Hij begon zijn carrière bij Jaguar en werd daar halverwege het seizoen uit de auto gezet ten gunste van de inmiddels overleden Justin Wilson. In 2004 kreeg de Braziliaan een herkansing voor een aantal races bij Williams, die een vervanger nodig hadden voor de zwaar gecrashte Ralf Schumacher. Aanvankelijk zou Pizzonia in de nummer 44 Manor als teamgenoot van James Jakes en Tor Graves fungeren, maar ook Jakes is er niet bij in Duitsland. Zijn plek wordt overgenomen door Matt Howson, die vorig jaar op Le Mans de LMP2-klasse wist te winnen.
