Citroën reserveert derde auto voor Lopez

Jose-Maria Lopez bemant volgend seizoen een Citroën C-Elysee in het World Touring Car Championship. De Argentijn is aangesteld als teamgenoot voor Sebastien Loeb en Yvan Muller. Lopez won dit jaar bij zijn debuut in het WTCC in Termas de Rio Hondo meteen een race.

Citroën-teambaas Yves Matton over zijn rijders: "Na ongeveer tien jaar aan de top in het WRC zijn we opgewonden om een nieuw hoofdstuk te schrijven met Loeb. Zoals in onze vorige sportieve programma's hebben we geprobeerd om de beste coureurs voor het team aan te trekken."

"Muller is al enorm betrokken bij de ontwikkeling van onze auto en hij is de drijvende kracht achter de progressie die we geboekt hebben. Maar we hebben ook hoge verwachtingen van Lopez, die tijdens de tests heeft bewezen zich erg op zijn gemak te voelen in de auto en bij het team."
