Recordaantal Chevrolets tijdens WTCC-weekend Marrakech

Na een lange pauze van maar liefst acht weken staat komend weekend weer een ronde van het WTCC-kampioenschap op het programma. Voor de tweede keer in de geschiedenis staat Marrakech op de kalender en Chevrolet zal met een recordaantal auto's naar Marokko gaan.

Maar liefst acht Chevrolet-bolides zullen komend weekend deelnemen aan het WTCC in Marrakech. Naast de drie fabrieksauto's van Yvan Muller, Rob Huff en Alain Menu zullen er nog eens vijf privé-Chevy's worden ingezet. Bamboo Engineering zet twee auto's in, terwijl Maurer Motorsport drie lokale coureurs de kans geeft zich te bewijzen in een Chevrolet.

"Acht Chevrolet's in een weekend is zeker geen gebruikelijk getal voor ons", vertelde Chevrolet Motorsport manager Eric Neve. "Het is erg goed om te zien dat privé-teams en privé-coureurs vertrouwen op onze auto en ik weet zeker dat het erg positief is voor ons merk dat er drie Marokkaanse coureurs meerijden dit weekend."
