Catsburg volgende Nederlander bij Lada

Lada heeft met Nick Catsburg nog een Nederlander aangetrokken voor het weekend op de Moscow Raceway. De 27-jarige coureur vervangt Mikhail Kozlovskiy en voegt zich bij landgenoot Jaap van Lagen en Rob Huff. Voor Catsburg betreft het zijn debuut in het World Touring Car Championship.

"De Lada Vesta WTCC-auto is compleet nieuw voor me. De eerste ronden tijdens een testdag op Magny-Cours waren een verassing. Deze wagen vereist echt een specifieke rijstijl met alle kracht op de vooras. Toen ik daar eenmaal aan gewend was na een paar ronden begon ik te genieten van het rijden met deze bolide. De remmen en de performance in de snelle bochten waren indrukwekkend."

"Dit is een nieuwe uitdaging voor me. De races in Rusland worden moeilijk, maar met hulp van het team en mijn ervaren stalgenoten moeten we goed voor de dag kunnen komen. Het is een belangrijk evenement voor Lada en sponsor Rosneft, het is een eer om daaraan bij te dragen. Het circuit oogt vrij technisch. Ik kan niet wachten om te beginnen", aldus Catsburg.

In de Blancpain Sprint ja, maar in de 24 u stond ie voor Marc VDS opgesteld. Zolang het niet overlapt lijkt het geen probleem te zijn.
