Homola maakt debuut voor eigen publiek

Mato Homola debuteert volgend weekend in het World Touring Car Championship. De 20-jarige Slowaak mag voor eigen publiek op de Slovakiaring zijn kunsten vertonen in een Chevrolet Cruze van Campos Racing. Dat combineert hij met racen in het European Touring Car Championship.

Homola: "Dit is een grote kans voor mij en ik ben vastberaden om er iets moois van te maken. Je komt niet vaak in de gelegenheid om deel te nemen aan een evenement voor het wereldkampioenschap en dan ook nog in eigen land, dat maakt het extra speciaal."

"Ik hoop op een goed resultaat, maar ik moet ook realistisch zijn. Ik kom in een sterk veld terecht en dien binnen mum van tijd een snellere en meer geavanceerde auto onder de knie te krijgen. Gelukkig zullen de Slowaakse fans me aanmoedigen en rijden we op een circuit dat ik goed ken."
