Rydell maakt plaats voor rookie Girolami

Rickard Rydell keerde in Rusland terug op de WTCC-grid, maar voor de komende twee weekenden maakt hij alweer plaats voor een ander. De Zweed staat zijn Honda Civic voor de races in Slowakije en Portugal af aan de Argentijnse debutant Nestor Girolami.

Rydell: "Zo goed als het aanvoelde om mijn rentree te maken, deze beslissing was eerder al genomen en daar sta ik nog volledig achter. Ik heb drie rondes gemist en wat betreft het kampioenschap maak ik toch nergens meer kans op. Dit heeft daar verder geen invloed op. Integendeel, dit geeft ons de kans om als team te groeien voor de toekomst. Ik verwelkom Nestor binnen onze gelederen en ik weet zeker dat hij het goed gaat doen."
