Van Lagen verliest Lada-zitje aan Lapierre

Jaap van Lagen is zijn stoeltje bij het World Touring Car Championship-team van Lada kwijtgeraakt aan Nicolas Lapierre. De Fransman krijgt de voorkeur voor de laatste vier evenementen van dit seizoen. Hij testte in juni op Paul Ricard al voor Lada.

Lapierre: "De Lada Vesta TC1 bemannen in het WTCC is vanzelfsprekend een opwindend vooruitzicht voor mij. Ik heb veel geracet in de eenzitters en sportscars, maar ik heb nog nooit geracet in een toerwagen. Voorwiel aangedreven wagens met turbomotoren zijn nieuw voor mij. Ik moest veel leren bij mijn eerste test, maar Lada heeft me uitstekend geholpen. Ik wil zo snel mogelijk het racen in deze klasse onder de knie krijgen en Lada veel punten bezorgen."

Met Tom Coronel en Nick Catsburg blijven er twee Nederlanders over in het WTCC.

      T heeft dus te maken met geld want LADA is onderdeel van Renault en de kosten drukken is altijd beter. Maar das logisch.

      nee, helemaal niet want Lapierre laten rijden kost niks minder dan Van Lagen laten rijden.

      Lapierre rijd gewoon omdat het een Fransman is.

    Kijk eens verder dan je neus lang is; Lapierre is net als van Lagen geen koekenbakker. Van Lagen viel een beetje tegen de laatste weekenden, dus proberen ze het nu met Lapierre.

      Dus dan draait het toch om geld, Lapiere zal wellicht beter rijden, beter is meer geld !! Alles draait om geld, geld is macht als, Lapiere ineens mag rijden zal hij wel meer opbrengen in the long run... DUS GELD Ze rijden er niet voor jan met de korste achternaam. Hoe je het ook went of keert het blijft zo, haal je het geld weg is er geen sport meer.

      Dus wie is er nou wakker en kijkt er niet verder dan zn neus? en wie zit er te pitten...

      nee, hij rijd omdat hij een Fransman is en hij het waarschijnlijk beter wil doen.

      nu kan jij het proberen te verdraaien om je te proberen te doen alsof jij gelijk hebt, maar het gaat gewoon niet om geld.

    Hoe komt Catsburg eigenlijk aan de benodigde contacten en sponsoring om boven Lada's 1e hulp bij noodgevallen verkozen te worden?

    Niets ten nadele van Catsburg want is gewoon een goed coureur die daar wel op zijn plek kan zitten de komende jaren. Maar vraag het mij gewoon af!

    Met Lapierre hebben ze een goede ervaren coureur binnen gehaald, net als van Lagen zelf zeg maar. Beetje zelfde type coureurs qua ervaring en talent.

      Jammer, maar helaas begrijpelijk. Lada heeft een link met Renault, Oreca, dat de auto's runt is Frans en Lapierre had al een paar keer getest. Dus 1+1+1+1. Dat Jaap er überhaupt zat was heel mooi, maar kwam louter en alleen door zijn Nürburgring ervaring, en dat hij dat met een punt bekroonde leverde hem een paar starts meer op.

      Catsburg is eigenlijk bijna hetzelfde verhaal. Geen sponsors, maar gewoon Victor Sjapovalov die aan Jaap vraagt, of ie nog een goede coureur kent die snel zou kunnen opdraven, nota bene in de thuisrace van de Russen. "Oh geen probleem, ik bel Nicky even op", meer is het niet. En ik sta me nog steeds af te vragen wat Mikhail Kozlowski in 's hemelsnaam fout heeft gedaan om uitgerekend in zijn thuisrace te moeten zien hoe een Hollander die wagen bijna op het podium zet. Slechte resultaten, de baas uitgescholden, het met de vriendin van de baas aangelegd?
