Andy Priaulx sterkste in tweede WTCC-race op Zolder

Andy Priaulx heeft vanmiddag zijn derde overwinning van het seizoen behaald op het circuit van Zolder. De Britse BMW-coureur bleef de Chevrolet van Rob Huff voor in een ietwat saaie race. Tom Coronel kende wederom een teleurstellende middag.

Priaulx kwam goed weg vanaf de pole position, die hij veroverde wegens zijn achtste plaats in de eerste race. Norbert Michelisz, die naast de Brit startte vanaf de eerste rij, kwam erg slecht weg en verloor meteen zes posities. Rob Huff en Tiago Monteiro volgden Priaulx en zo bleef het de hele race.

Alain Menu en Yvan Muller reden ook een race zonder incidenten en eindigden voor Chevrolet als vierde en vijfde. Gabriele Tarquini eindigde de race als zesde, maar werd bijna gepasseerd door Augusto Farfus. De Braziliaan ging echter in de fout en verloor zelfs een positie aan Michelisz, die daardoor zevende werd. Farfus eindigde als achtste, gevolgd door de winnaar bij de Independents, Sergio Hernandez. Tom Coronel kende, net als Michelisz, een hele slechte start en eindigde als tiende.
