Thompson vervangt Münnich in Slowakije

James Thompson keert terug in het World Touring Car Championship. Hij stapt voor de ronde op de Slovakia Ring in een Chevrolet Cruze van Münnich Motorsport omdat eigenaar René Münnich zelf niet kan. Hij heeft verplichtingen in het World Rallycross Championship.

Teammanager Dominik Greiner: "Het doet ons deugd om James in ons team te verwelkomen voor het weekend in Slowakije. Iedereen binnen Münnich Motorsport verheugt zich erop om hem in een van onze wagens te zien. James is een legende in de toerwagens, met twee BTCC-titels en vier zeges in het WTCC tot dusver. Vooralsnog is het eenmalig, maar René heeft vaker verplichtingen in het WRX, dus wie weet kan James ons vaker van dienst zijn."
