James Thompson bestuurt in Marokko opnieuw een Chevrolet Cruze van Münnich Motorsport. Teameigenaar Rene Münnich heeft weer verplichtingen in het World Rallycross Championship. Thompson viel eerder in Slowakije voor hem in.

Münnich Motorsport-teammanager Dominik Greiner: "James is een uitmuntende coureur en een legende met vier zeges in het WTCC. Hij deed het naar behoren op de Slovakiaring, zijn eerste race in twaalf maanden, zijn eerste race voor ons team en zijn eerste race in een Chevrolet. Hij was vijfde in de tweede vrije training en met meer geluk was hij verder gekomen in de kwalificatie. Aangezien Rene weer verhinderd is, was dit de ideale gelegenheid om James weer een kans te geven."
