Andy Priaulx bovenaan in warm-up, Tom Coronel slechts zestiende

Andy Priaulx heeft tijdens de warm-up ter voorbereiding op de eerste WTCC-race in Portimao de snelste tijd gereden. De Britse BMW-coureur was slechts 0.014 seconden sneller dan Gabriele Tarquini van SEAT.

De eerste drie posities werden allen bezet door drie verschillende fabrikanten. Achter Priaulx (BMW) en Tarquini (SEAT), eindigde Rob Huff van Chevrolet namelijk als derde. Yvan Muller reed de vierde tijd, gevolgd door Augusto Farfus en polesitter Tiago Monteiro. De Portugees kwam een halve seconde tekort op de tijd van Priaulx.

Darryl O'Young was in de warm-up de snelste Independent-coureur op de zevende plaats. Colin Turkington reed daarin de tweede tijd op de negende stek overall. Voor Tom Coronel verliep de warm-up niet zoals gewenst, wat resulteerde in slechts een zestiende tijd.
