Coronel beboet voor gebruik telefoon in de auto na kwalificatie

Tom Coronel heeft een flinke boete overgehouden aan een geintje na afloop van de kwalificatie voor de WTCC-race op de Nurburgring. De Nederlander gebruikte na afloop van de sessie zijn mobiele telefoon in de auto om een video te maken en de internationale autosportfederatie FIA vond dit alles behalve verantwoord. Coronel kreeg een boete van 5.000 euro cadeau.

De boete van 5.000 euro moet binnen 48 betaald worden door Coronel, die op zijn beurt een crowdfundactie is gestart om het bedrag te betalen. De Nederlander is van mening dat het bedrag 'veel te hoog is voor hem als privateer' en Coronel hoopt dan ook dat zijn fans hem zullen helpen.

Vooralsnog gaat dit idee Coronel goed af. Al meer dan 30 mensen hebben zich achter de Nederlander geschaard en van de 5.000 euro boete is al 3.000 euro verzameld.
