Catsburg pakt als eerste Nederlander pole position

Nick Catsburg heeft als eerste Nederlander een pole position gereden in het WTCC. De 28-jarige coureur reed op het circuit in Moskou de snelste tijd in de kwalificatie, en bleef met zijn LADA voor Gabriele Tarquini en Hugo Valente.

Uiteraard is Catsburg dolblij: "Ik ben echt enorm verrast en blij. Tijdens de tweede vrije training was het nat toen ik de langzaamste van de LADA-coureurs was. Ik had het heel moeilijk in de regen en hoopte op een droge baan. Ik sprak met Gabriele en volgde zijn advies op waarna het team wat veranderingen aan de set-up maakte, hierna was alles goed."

"Ik heb geen idee waarom we nu opeens zo snel zijn maar het toont aan dat we als team goede stappen vooruit maken en iedere race onszelf weten te verbeteren. Ik ben superblij dat we een 1-2-3 hebben gescoord in Rusland, voor onze thuisfans!"
