Fredrik Ekblom in China terug bij Volvo

Fredrik Ekblom keert komend weekend terug op de grid in het World Touring Car Championship voor de ronde op het circuit van Sjanghai. De 45-jarige Zweed kruipt weer achter het stuur van een van de Volvo's van Polestar Cyan Racing.

Voor dat team begon hij dit seizoen ook in het WTCC, maar hij maakte in de zomer plaats voor Robert Dahlgren. In Japan bemande Nestor Girolami de tweede Volvo naast Thed Björk. Dahlgren en Girolami zijn dit weekend niet beschikbaar, dus doet Polestar weer een beroep op Ekblom.

"Het doet me deugd dat ik weer mag racen in het WTCC en ik ben vastberaden om het meeste te maken van de indrukwekkende progressie die Volvo heeft doorgemaakt. Ik ben klaar voor de uitdagingen van Sjanghai", aldus de Zweed.
