Tarquini en Monteiro bezorgen SEAT volle buit op Valencia

SEAT heeft goede zaken gedaan op het thuiscircuit in Valencia. Regerend World Touring Car Championship-kampioen Gabriele Tarquini blies in race 1 zijn titelkansen nieuw leven in door te winnen en in race 2 was Tiago Monteiro de sterkste.

Tarquini leidde de eerste race van start tot finish, met Chevrolet-rijder Yvan Muller in zijn kielzog. Het gat bedroeg op het einde slechts een halve seconde. Muller eindigde ook in de tweede race als tweede, op zeven tienden van een seconde van Monteiro.

Tom Coronel moest genoegen nemen met een tiende en een negende plaats, nadat hij een grid penalty van tien plekken kreeg vanwege een nieuwe motor. Zijn team liet André Couto vorige week kennismaken met het circuit van Macau, maar gebruikte daarvoor de auto van Coronel. Door het extra verbruik was een motorwissel in Valencia noodzakelijk.
