Huff heerst bij test op circuit van Monza

Rob Huff heeft de testsessie van het World Touring Car Championship in Monza deze week gedomineerd. De Brit, die deze winter overstapte naar het team van Münnich Motorsport, stuurde zijn Citroën C-Elysée woensdag naar een 1:52.497 en daar kon niemand aan tippen.

De WTCC-kampioen van 2012 was in elke sessie bij de test op Monza de snelste. Huff: "Het is slechts testen en het levert geen punten op, maar het geeft ons wel het vertrouwen dat we de goede kant opgaan. Ik voel me lekker in de auto en het team heeft puik werk verricht. We hebben gewoon ons programma afgewerkt, hebben veel kilometers gemaakt en alles functioneerde zoals het hoort. Zo simpel is het.

Huff was de enige die onder de 1:53 dook. Op de tijdenlijst van deze week bezet Tom Coronel de tweede positie met een 1:53.255. Mehdi Bennani completeerde de top drie met een 1:53.336. Het nieuwe WTCC-seizoen begint in het weekend van 7 tot en met 9 april in Marokko.
