Catsburg: "Tevreden met onze prestaties"

Nick Catsburg maakt zich net als de rest in het World Touring Car Championship op voor het volgende raceweekend, dit weekend in Hongarije. De Nederlander rijdt sinds dit seizoen in dienst van Volvo. Nadat Lada zich plotseling terugtrok uit het WTCC zat hij zonder werkgever, maar Polestar Cyan Racing bood hem uitkomst.

Dat heeft Catsburg geen windeieren gelegd. Hij bezet de derde plaats in de tussenstand om het kampioenschap. "De Volvo is sneller dan de Lada, dat is het meest prominente verschil. We zijn zeer tevreden met onze prestaties tot nu toe. Thed Bjork staat tweede, ik derde en Nestor Girolami wat verder terug. In de eerste twee weekenden was ik niet op mijn best, een beetje ongelukkig, maar nog sta ik derde. Daar kan ik alleen maar blij mee zijn."

"De competitie is intens. Honda is erg sterk en we moeten nog harder werken om ons te verbeteren. Volvo en Polestar Cyan Racing zijn vorig jaar pas begonnen, maar we doen nu al mee om de overwinningen. Dat is een prestatie van formaat. We moeten de mouwen opstropen en hard blijven werken, want er is altijd ruimte voor verbetering. Dat is het plan voor de rest van het seizoen en hopelijk kunnen we aan het eind van het jaar strijden met Honda."
