Yvan Müller maakt in Qatar zijn WTCC-comeback

Yvan Müller keert komend weekend voor even terug in het World Touring Car Championship. De viervoudig WTCC-kampioen stapt bij Volvo in voor de seizoenfinale in Qatar. De Fransman moet het Zweedse merk helpen in de jacht op de titels en dat gaat ten koste van Nestor Girolami.

Müller: "Ik ben blij dat ik weer mag racen nadat ik dit seizoen hard met het team gewerkt heb om met een voorsprong aan het slotweekend te beginnen. Mijn doel is om Thed Björk te helpen om kampioen te worden en Polestar Cyan Racing te steunen om de titel over de streep te trekken. Het wordt zwaar, maar ik weet zeker dat we hebben wat ervoor nodig is om dat te verwezenlijken in Qatar."

Girolami: "Ik heb geaccepteerd om mijn plekje af te staan aan Yvan. Hij is een legendarische coureur met meer ervaring op het circuit van Losail dan ik en dat is van vitaal belang voor deze spannende seizoensfinale. Ik kijk ernaar uit om ons werk richting 2018 te vervolgen en ik zal de seizoensfinale in Qatar op de voet volgen."
