Voormalige rally-kampioen Solberg wil naar het WTCC

Petter Solberg is van plan om een opmerkelijke carrièreswitch te maken. De voormalige WRC-kampioen pakte in 2005 zijn laatste overwinning in de rally, nadat hij in 2003 kampioen werd. In de toekomst hoopt Solberg in het WTCC te kunnen rijden.

Solberg zit momenteel nog zonder stoeltje voor 2011, al zou hij aanbiedingen hebben gekregen van Citroën in het WRC. "Ik weet wat ik allemaal kan op het circuit, daarom kijk ik naar het WTCC", vertelde Solberg. "Ik ben zeker geïnteresseert om enkele auto's te testen. Ik heb eerder al Le Mans- en Formule 1-auto's getest en dat verliep goed."

"Het is op dit moment niet gemakkelijk om in het WRC te blijven, dus bekijk ik al mijn andere opties."
