Gabriele Tarquini snelste in afgebroken testsessie Zolder

Gabriele Tarquini heeft zojuist tijdens de testsessie op het Belgische circuit Zolder de snelste tijd gereden. De Italiaan was in zijn SEAT slechts 0.039 seconden sneller dan de Chevrolet van Alain Menu. Tom Coronel eindigde als vierde.

Tom Coronel was in het begin van de testsessie in Zolder de snelste man, maar werd al snel achterhaald door Tarquini. De Italiaan bleef verrassend aan kop staan en liet twee Chevrolet-rijders, Alain Menu en Rob Huff, achter zich. Menu moest slechts 0.039 seconden toegeven op de tijd van Tarquini, Huff was ruim drie tienden langzamer.

[LEFT_IMG=13211]Monteurs werken aan de BMW van Tom Coronel[/LEFT_IMG]Coronel kende verder een probleemloze sessie. De Nederlander eindigde als vierde met een achterstand van vier tienden op Tarquini. Yvan Muller reed naar de vijfde tijd en bleef hiermee Independent-rijder Michel Nykjaer ruim twee tienden voor. Fredy Barth en Kristian Poulsen besloten de top acht.

Er werd deze sessie maar liefst tweemaal met de rode vlag gezwaaid. Na een dik kwartier reed Alexey Dudukalo zijn SEAT in bocht negen de bandenstapels in. Met nog maar een minuut te gaan in de sessie werd wederom de rode vlag uitgehangen. Hierna werd de sessie echter niet meer opnieuw gestart.
