Menu en Muller verzilveren Chevrolet-dominantie in Hongarije

Alain Menu en Yvan Muller hebben de heerschappij van Chevrolet op de Hungaroring omgezet in twee overwinningen. Dat ging echter niet zonder slag of stoot. Thuisrijder Norbert Michelisz bood in een BMW in race 1 goed weerstand en eindigde op een seconde van Menu als tweede.

Ook de laatste plaats op het podium was voor een BMW, namelijk Javier Villa. Tom Coronel had een veelbewogen race, waarbij hij in de eerste bocht Yvan Muller aantikte. De Nederlander viel later zelf uit. Gabriele Tarquini was de beste Seat op positie zes.

De tweede race werd al na anderhalve ronde stilgelegd wegens een hevige regenbui, terwijl alle rijders op slicks stonden. Muller was in opdrogende condities vervolgens de beste, voor teamgenoot Rob Huff. Tarquini weerhield Coronel van de gang naar het podium.
