Ford evalueert comeback in WTCC met nieuwe Focus

Ford bestudeert de opties om zijn rentree te maken in het World Touring Car Championship. De Amerikaanse autofabrikant werkt samen met Brits Touring Car Championship-team Arena International Motorsport om een WTCC-programma op te starten.

Arena is in het BTCC actief met drie exemplaren van de Focus en die versie vormt volgens Autosport de basis voor het WTCC-model. Arena-teambaas Mike Earle: We evalueren de bouw van een WTCC-auto en we zijn al met het werk begonnen. Het zou in november klaar moeten zijn. Het is een project ter evaluatie met Ford en op basis daarvan hakken we knopen door. Niemand heeft zich nog ergens aan verbonden.
