Yvan Muller pakt 'double' met overwinning in natte race

Yvan Muller heeft ook de tweede race op Donington Park op zijn naam geschreven. Nadat de Fransman al de beste coureur was in de eerste manche, wist hij het hoofd koel te houden onder lastige omstandigheden. Rob Huff zorgde voor een nieuwe dubbelzege van Chevrolet.

Tom Coronel mocht de tweede race vanaf de pole position starten, maar kon niks doen tegen de snelheid van de Chevy's. Vooral de wegligging van Muller en Huff was erg goed op het natte asfalt. Franz Engstler reed een sterke race en eindigde als beste Independent-coureur op het podium met de derde positie overall.

Engstler bleef BMW-collega Tom Coronel voor, die voor de tweede maal dit weekend als vierde eindigde. Hij wist Alain Menu achter zich te houden. Robert Dahlgren eindigde in zijn Volvo als zesde, terwijl Gabriele Tarquini en Darryl O'Young de top acht completeerden.
