Chevrolet stilt nieuwsgierigheid van Sebastien Loeb met test

Meervoudig World Rally Championship-kampioen Sebastien Loeb heeft een test met een Chevrolet Cruze uit het World Touring Car Championship uitgevoerd op het circuit van Rockingham. Het is echter geen voorbode van een overstap van Loeb naar het WTCC.

Dat benadrukt Chevrolet. De test was het gevolg van een uitnodiging van coureur Yvan Muller, nadat hij eerder op uitnodiging van Loeb in de Rally van Frankrijk uitkwam. Chevrolet stelt in een verklaring: Chevrolet en RML waren meer dan blij om samen te werken om de uitnodiging van Yvan aan Sebastien om zijn Cruze uit te proberen te materialiseren. Echter, dit mag op geen enkele manier opgevat worden als een teken van professionele interesse voor de korte termijn van de betrokken partijen.

Update: Sebastien Loeb heeft zojuist een nieuw contract getekend bij Citroën in het WRC tot en met 2013.
