Chevrolet zet op Suzuka extra Cruze in voor thuisrijder Arai

Rallycoureur Toshi Arai debuteert op 23 oktober in het World Touring Car Championship. Chevrolet heeft een extra Cruze ingeschreven voor de race op Suzuka en gereserveerd voor Arai. De Japanner heeft de wagen vorige week aan de tand gevoeld bij een test in Pembrey, Wales.

Arai: Ik was extreem tevreden over hoe die sessie verliep. De Cruze is plezierig om te besturen en reageert heel goed op input van de rijder, en het team is erg professioneel. Het doet mij deugd om aan het WTCC-evenement in eigen land deel te nemen met Chevrolet. Het wordt een nieuwe ervaring voor me, maar de filosofie van het WTCC en de WRC met betrekking tot productie-auto's is hetzelfde en hopelijk pas ik me snel aan. Van een voorstel om in het WTCC te debuteren voor de regerend kampioen Chevrolet kan je eigenlijk alleen maar dromen.
