Yoshimoto en Kano aan de start bij thuisrace op Suzuka

Het World Touring Car Championship-veld bestaat later deze maand uit een groot aantal Japanners voor de race op Suzuka. Eerder was al bekend gemaakt dat Chevrolet een extra wagen inzet voor Toshi Arai en ook SEAT en BMW schrijven voor de gelegenheid een thuisrijder in.

Hiroki Yoshimoto debuteert in het WTCC voor SEAT Sunred. Hij eindigde in een grijs verleden twee maal op het podium in de GP2 en is momenteel actief in de Super GT. Ik ben opgewonden dat ik me bij een succesvol team als Sunred voeg voor een competitieve serie als het WTCC.

Landgenoot Masaki Kano verdedigt op Suzuka de eer van Engstler BMW. De 35-jarige Japanner is de afgelopen jaren een vaste klant bij Engstler voor de WTCC-races in Japan en Macau.
